We are written this in short sentences on purpose: what we collect, why, and how to make us delete it.
Today this site is pages, not accounts. There is no login, and no form on the site is live, so we are not collecting your name, email, or debt details. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs so pages can load and stay secure. Those logs can include basic technical data like an IP address and browser type. We do not sell that information or share it for ads. Pages that earn from a partner link say so at the top, and once you click through, the partner's own privacy policy takes over.
We plan free tools, like a savings estimator and a payoff calculator. When they go live, the numbers you type will stay in your browser on your device. A calculator does not need your name, your accounts, or your debt details to do math. If we ever add a feature that stores personal data, this page gets updated before that feature turns on, and we will say exactly what is collected, where it is kept, and how long we hold it. If a future form ever asks for something sensitive, the page will explain why it needs it.
Honest answer: this is a small static site. We run no advertising trackers, and we set no cookies that follow you across the web. Pages are plain HTML, and there is no profile of you stored anywhere. Our host keeps routine server logs so the site functions, which most hosts do by default. The site still works if your browser blocks all cookies, because nothing here depends on one. Partner sites you reach through our links may set their own cookies under their own policies. That is their page, not ours.
If you email us, or if a future tool ever stores something about you, you can ask us to delete it. Write to editor@thepennybrief.com and say what you want removed. A real person will confirm what we hold, delete it, and tell you when it is done. There is no account to close and no dashboard to click through. Server logs are kept and cleared on our host's standard schedule, not a custom one. Because we collect so little today, deletion requests are genuinely simple, and we want to keep them that way.
California, Colorado, Virginia, and a growing list of other states give residents rights over personal data: knowing what is collected, correcting it, deleting it, and opting out of sale or sharing. If you live in one of those states, those rights apply to anything The Penny Brief holds about you, beyond the promises on this page. To exercise them, email editor@thepennybrief.com with the word PRIVACY in the subject. We do not charge for requests, and we will not treat you differently for making one. If a new tool ever changes this picture, this page will say so before it ships.
This site is written for adults making money decisions. Debt settlement, credit, and collections are adult topics, and our sources speak to adults. We do not direct any page at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. There are no games, no kid-facing tools, and no plans for any. If a parent or guardian believes a child sent us personal information, email editor@thepennybrief.com and we will locate it and delete it, then confirm that with you.
